In an effort to provide a doula for every woman who needs one, we offer birth and postpartum services based on the number of people in your household and your household’s annual income. Qualifying low-income women receive these services for free.  We also offer affordable birth services for $350 and postpartum services on a sliding scale for families outside the range of our free services. Please have this household information ready when calling to sign up with the program. Doulas Care has birth and postpartum doulas throughout Southeast Michigan. A staff member will do a brief phone interview with you to determine eligibility and then proceed to find a doula who is available to work with you and your family.

Birth Doula Service Package includes

• 3 in-home prenatal visits with your doula
• Doula that is on-call for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your due date to be available for labor support
• Up to 3 early postpartum visits

We recommend that you enroll in our program 2-3 months before your due date.

Postpartum Doula Service Package includes:

• 1 in-home prenatal visit with your doula
• 1-2 in-home visits per week from your postpartum doula after baby is born up to 6 weeks (up to 3 months with multiples)
• Community resources and referrals

We recommend that you enroll in our program before your baby is born if you anticipate wanting a postpartum doula while pregnant. You can also enroll anytime after the baby is born within the first 6 weeks, but it may take us several days to find you a doula.

To Make a Referral

If you provide services to pregnant women or otherwise know of a woman who could benefit from having a doula, please give your client/friend our toll free number, 866-845-0003 and encourage her to call. If the woman is a Spanish-only speaker, she can call 734-478-0045.

Outreach

We can also provide your agency/business with Doulas Care client brochures in both English and Spanish that you are welcome to pass out. In addition, program staff are available to come and speak to your group about our program and answer any questions you may have.
