Birth Doulas
Doulas Care Birth doulas provide support to expectant parents prenatally, during labor and early postpartum. Doulas Care doulas provide 3 prenatal visits in your home. During these visits your doula can provide:
- Nutritional counseling
- Tips for coping with discomforts of pregnancy
- Preparation for birth
- Assistance in creating a birth plan
Your doula will be on-call 2 weeks before your due date and 2 weeks after your due date. Once you go into labor and get to your care provider, your doula will meet you to provide continuous labor and birth support including:
- Suggestions and support for positioning in labor
- Comfort measures in labor such as massage, hydrotherapy support, warm/cool compresses
- Troubleshooting for difficult births
- Facilitated communication with your health care providers
- Support for dads and partners
- Support for natural births including VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)
- Cesarean and post-cesarean support
Doulas Care birth doulas provide 3 early postpartum visits. Their role postpartum includes:
- Respect for the bond between mom and baby in those tender early hours
- Encouragement and skilled support to breastfeed
- Postpartum home visit(s)
- Community resources and referrals
